Kevin Richards

Kevin (Richie 42) is founder and Executive Director.  Kevin is a former combat medic with the Royal Regiment of Wales and has served in many countries, including Northern Ireland and Operation Desert Storm. He is treasurer for the Bridgend branch of the Royal Welsh Veterans association, has created and maintains the www.royalwelshveterans.co.uk website.  Kevin has seen the need for a dedicated PTSD facility for our wounded and even though he is no longer in the forces, has never stopped caring for his friends and is passionate about helping them. Carol Richards

Carol is Co-Founder of the charity and also charity secretary, she has a background in the banking industry and has experience in administration. Carol also spent some time as an instructor with the Army Cadets at Neath near Swansea, gaining weapon training experience and has also completed an assault course supervisors course. Carol is a Master Practitioner, delivering treatment to our Veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress and is constantly striving to help raise awareness for the charity, within our Welsh communities and beyond. Rachel Phillips

Rachel is one of the charity’s Master Practitioner’s.  A qualified care assistant, trained by the local authority, Rachel gained NVQ level 2 in Health and Social care and also has a Diploma in Welfare studies, which includes experience with medication, manual handling, dementia and the protection of vulnerable adults. She also holds a qualification for First Aid and food safety and a Higher Education Certificate for BSc Psychology with Criminology from University of Glamorgan, Pontypridd.  Through her work, Rachel has come into contact with individuals who have been affected by the traumas of war.  Rachel is an avid supporter of the rehabilitation of Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families.  Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Amie Phillips

Amie is our events and fund raising co-ordinator.  Amie completed a BA (Hons) in Film Studies and Cultural and Media studies in 2007 at University of the West of England, Bristol.  From there Amie went on to work for Peacocks as an Assistant Merchandiser.  This involved working closely with the Department Merchandiser and buying team to accurately forecast trends and to plan budgets for the season and monitor overall performance of the department.  Amie joined Healing the Wounds in 2011, where she has fast become a valuable member of the team.  Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Alun Richards ( Fundraising Coordinator West Wales )
 
On leaving school, Alun worked as a self employed Landscape gardener, before moving to Cardigan in 1989. He then found employment within the printing industry, working for several years as a full colour lithographic printer at EL Jones and Son in Cardigan. He then moved into IT, repairing and building computer systems for the home and business user, including network set-up and server management.
 
Since joining Healing the Wounds in September 2011, Alun has already made a significant contribution to the charity, instigating various events and fundraising activities amongst local businesses and schools and also distributing collection boxes over a wide area of West Wales.
 
Alun is the younger brother of our founder Kevin Richards and shares Kevin's and the HTW team's passion to help our serving personnel and Veterans of the Armed Forces, who are in need of our support.

Paul Harding  ( Area fundraising co-ordinator Gwent)
 
Paul joined the Army in 1976 and trained as a combat radioman in the Royal Signals. His history within the Army includes 4 combat tours of Northern Ireland, a two year undercover tour also in Northern Ireland and was involved in the Faulklands conflict. Some of Pauls experiences during his life in the Army included a hostage rescue in Lebanon.
Holding the rank of Troop Sergeant, he decided to leave the Army.
 
After life in the Army had ended for Paul, he found himself in various jobs including erecting aerials to haulage driving. Paul became troubled by post traumatic stress and came to Healing the Wounds to be treated successfully.
 
Paul wanted be involved in helping Veterans like himself and now works as an area fundraising coordinator for Healing the Wounds, made possible through the Poppy Factory Scheme. He will be helping to instigate and organise various events in and around the Newport area of South Wales, whilst raising awareness through placing collection boxes at different venues.
 
We welcome Paul on board joining our dedicated team of workers and wish him every success in his new employment with Healing the Wounds.

 

Robert Lloyd

Robert Lloyd, the former editor of the Carmarthen Journal and Llanelli Star newspapers, now runs his own press, public relations and marketing consultancy.

 

Dylan Draig

Standing at 6 foot tall, Dylan gets noticed wherever he goes!  Our beloved charity mascot is the newest member of the team but loves the attention he gets whenever he attends a fund raiser.  “Grrrrrrrr roar grr grrrrrrrrrrrrr roar grrrrrrrrrr roar” (translated as “it is so rewarding working for an Armed Forces charity that works to promote the mental health of our brave guys and girls”).  Email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
