Healing the Wounds, an Armed Forces charity based in Tondu, Bridgend, delivers treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to serving personnel, Veterans and the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services. We also provide support to their families, who unfortunately can often suffer PTSD ‘by proxy’.
The charity realized the need to provide a place for our Forces heroes to receive treatment for PTSD and recover from what they have had to endure through the course of doing their duty, during conflicts past and present.

There were no Scrooges in Coychurch Road, Bridgend over the Christmas period as members of the public visited the street to get into the festive spirit, at the Chamberlain family’s wonderful Christmas display.
Every Christmas Mr Chamberlain decorates the family home with hundreds of exterior lights and Christmas figures in order to raise money for charity. Over the years those visiting the display have donated to Ty Hafan, Princess of Wales Hospital, the Fire Service Benevolent Fund and the Make a Wish Foundation.
This Christmas, the eagerly anticipated event raised a fantastic £580 for Healing the Wounds, the armed forces charity providing support and treatment for servicemen and women, veterans and emergency service personnel in Wales who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Charity mascot Dylan the Dragon visited the Chamberlains to accept the wonderful donation.
Healing the Wounds founder and chief executive Kevin Richards said “it was a wonderful gesture by Mr Chamberlain to think of us at Christmas time. He put a huge amount of personal effort into putting the display together and we are very grateful to him for thinking of Healing the Wounds”
“The money raised by Mr Chamberlain and his family will be put to immediate use, helping us to arrange treatment courses for sufferers of PTSD.”
“As we survive on fundraising and donations alone, we are always on the lookout for others interested in fundraising for the charity”
