Healing the Wounds, an Armed Forces charity based in Tondu, Bridgend, delivers treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to serving personnel, Veterans and the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services. We also provide support to their families, who unfortunately can often suffer PTSD ‘by proxy’.
The charity realized the need to provide a place for our Forces heroes to receive treatment for PTSD and recover from what they have had to endure through the course of doing their duty, during conflicts past and present.

Members and families of The South West Winterguard Academy held a collection at their showcase competition on Saturday 14th January, in memory of Lance Sergeant Dan Collins and raised £75 for Healing the Wounds.
'Army Dan', as he was known to his friends, suffered from post traumatic stress as a result of his experiences during various conflicts, was a soldier through and through and was subjected to a number of 'near misses' during his Army career. His mental trauma remained a torturer for him until he could no longer live with the pain of his memories of conflict and sadly his life ended on New Years Day.
Ken Burrows, core director of the academy has expressed a wish to continue fundraising for Healing the Wounds for which we are extremely grateful. The South West Winterguard Academy is located in Bristol and are a non profit youth group, supporting young people from ages 8 to 24 in the activity of Colourguard.
Healing the Wounds are fortunate to be supported by organisations such as this and will continue to provide much needed treatment for our brave serving and Veterans of the Forces who suffer this debilitating mental ailment.
